Wase Chairman Supports Communal Clash Victims
Hon. Dr. Hamisu Mohammed Anani extends support to victims of Nahuta communal clash. He appeals for peace, unity, and dialogue.

The Executive Chairman of Wase Local Government Council, Hon. Dr. Hamisu Mohammed Anani, has extended support to families affected by the recent communal clash at Nahuta Community in Kumbur Ward. The chairman presented relief items and a cash donation of N1 million to the victims. He described the incident as a painful setback to peace and development efforts.
Hon. Anani expressed sympathy to families who suffered losses. He assured them that the council would continue to collaborate with relevant agencies. He stressed that no meaningful development can thrive in an atmosphere of violence.
The chairman called on all parties to embrace dialogue, tolerance, and understanding. He noted that peaceful coexistence has always been the strength of the people of Wase. He urged youths to resist any attempt to incite violence or create division.
Hon. Anani commended security agencies for their swift intervention. He called upon traditional institutions, religious leaders, and community associations to intensify peace-building initiatives. He emphasized that the future of the local government depends on collective commitment to peace.
The chairman stated: “At this critical moment, our people must unite in the spirit of brotherhood and understanding. Violence only brings pain and destruction, while peace creates opportunities for growth and development.”
The chairman personally presented the relief items. The donation included essential food items such as bags of rice, millet, sugar, spaghetti, groundnut oil, and mattresses. He also gave a substantial cash donation of N1 million to provide relief to the affected families.

A community leader responded on behalf of the entire community. He described the gesture as timely and thoughtful. The community expressed gratitude and agreed to shun any form of violence or clash that may cause further loss.
The chairman was escorted by members and staff of Wase Local Government Council. They included Hon. Nantip Padur (Deputy Chairman), Hajiya Binta Sadau (Council Secretary), Rt. Hon. Mustapha Idris (Chief of Staff), Rt. Hon. Shehu Umar (Leader of Legislative Arm), elected councillors, and the Director of Social Service.
The chairman’s visit and donation bring hope to the affected community. His call for peace and unity reflects the administration’s commitment to reconciliation. The community’s agreement to shun violence is a positive step toward lasting peace. The council urges all residents to maintain law and order and support ongoing peace initiatives.
