Trump Blasts NATO Over Iran War Support as Strait of Hormuz Crisis Deepens

President Donald Trump has sharply criticized NATO allies, accusing them of failing to support the United States and Israel in the ongoing conflict with Iran.
In a post on his Truth Social platform, Trump described NATO countries as “cowards” for refusing to assist in securing the Strait of Hormuz, a critical global shipping route that has been effectively disrupted amid escalating tensions.
Trump argued that while the conflict is “militarily won,” NATO members are unwilling to take what he described as a low risk military action to reopen the vital waterway, even as they continue to complain about rising global oil prices.
The situation has intensified economic concerns worldwide, with the Strait of Hormuz through which a significant portion of global oil passes remaining unstable since the conflict began on February 28.
The war has already led to thousands of casualties and widespread displacement.
Meanwhile, NATO confirmed it is adjusting its operations in Iraq, relocating personnel due to security risks linked to the conflict.
French President Emmanuel Macron emphasized that European nations are focused on de escalation and upholding international law rather than entering the war.
At a European Union summit in Brussels, leaders struggled to agree on a unified response to rising energy costs, with no clear consensus reached on tackling the economic fallout.
As tensions continue, the global energy market remains volatile, with analysts warning of prolonged instability if the Strait of Hormuz crisis persists.
