Emir Sanusi II Visits Kano Government House Amid Governor Yusuf’s Lagos Meeting

The Speaker of the Kano State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Isma’il Jibril Falgore, on Sunday received the Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, at the Government House in Kano during the traditional Sallah homage, while the state governor was away on official duty.
Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf was not present at the event as he joined other members of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum for a strategic meeting with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in Lagos.
The Emir of Kano arrived at the Government House with a delegation of district heads and members of the emirate council to perform the traditional Sallah homage, a longstanding cultural practice symbolizing respect and cooperation between traditional institutions and the government.
Speaking on behalf of the governor, Speaker Falgore reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to protecting the lives and property of residents across Kano State. He emphasized that the government remains focused on strengthening the state’s security architecture and maintaining peace and stability.
According to him, the administration has continued to implement proactive strategies aimed at improving collaboration with security agencies and promoting community-based efforts to tackle crime and ensure law and order.
He also urged parents and community leaders to play active roles in raising children with strong moral values, noting that responsible upbringing is essential for building a better society and producing future leaders.
The Speaker further commended the traditional institution for its continued support in fostering unity, peace, and effective communication between the government and the people at the grassroots level.
In his remarks, Emir Muhammadu Sanusi II praised the state government for making notable progress in the education sector. However, he encouraged the administration to intensify efforts in areas such as healthcare and youth empowerment.
The Emir also reaffirmed the readiness of the traditional institution to continue supporting government initiatives aimed at promoting peace, stability, and development across the state.
The Sallah homage provided an opportunity for both the government and the traditional leadership to exchange views on issues relating to governance, security, and the welfare of the people of Kano State.
